Failing Tranfer from SFTP to ACS and setting up a new SFTP

In troubleshooting issues with an existing SFTP connection, we attempted to setup an alternative host and reconnect our workflows to this host.

 

Integration Scenario: We are pushing files from Adobe Analytics into an intermediate SFTP host and then pulling the files with Adobe Campaign.

 

Issue: We noticed that our current SFTP host is reporting issues with Adobe Campaign deleting the file after; thus, the workflow is marked as failed or does not continue moving files.

 

Workaround: We set up an alternative SFTP host since we're troubleshooting multiple issues with this provider and are migrating away. 

 

New Issue: We have verified all connectivity to the new host and all permissions, attempted with no IP whitelist as well, with only a generic error in Adobe Campaign: "Quote Command Return Error"

 

Possible Solution: Add a public key to our new SFTP account, but don't know where to find this in the ACS admin.  (we had to do this for Analytics)

Ahmad here. Sounds like a classic tech headache! 😅 I've had some experience working with SFTP and Adobe tools in the past, and I might be able to offer some suggestions.

 

Root Issue: If Adobe Campaign is indeed deleting files after a process, it can be due to permissions, process settings, or even a file locking issue. Ensure that Adobe Campaign is set up to "move" files and not "delete" after processing, if there's such an option.

 

Workaround: Good move on trying out an alternative SFTP. Sometimes, the issues can be tied to the host itself, and by switching, you can isolate whether it's an Adobe issue or an SFTP host issue.

 

New Issue: "Quote Command Return Error" usually means that the SFTP server doesn't understand a command that Adobe Campaign is sending. Check if Adobe Campaign has logging features where you can see the exact FTP commands it's trying to send. It might be a setting in Adobe Campaign that's not compatible with your SFTP server.

 

Possible Solution: Adding a public key can be a good step for authentication, and often it's more secure than just a password. In Adobe Campaign Standard (ACS), you'd generally need to:

Go to Admin > Platform (or similar depending on version).

 

Look for an option related to external accounts, SFTP, or connectivity.

 

There should be a section where you can either upload or paste in the public key.

 

Remember, if you're using a public key for authentication, you need the corresponding private key on the Adobe Campaign side. And if you did this for Analytics, it might be required for Campaign as well.

Lastly, consider checking Adobe's documentation or reaching out to their support. Sometimes, the most straightforward answers can come from those directly involved in the product.
