ECID integration with AAM

Hi, 

 

I would like further detail on when ACS stitches the ECID to the profile. Does this happen only once a profile clicks from an email to one of our website properties that contains the ECID service?

 

What about on just email opens? I would like to share an audience of "email opens" to AAM for targeting using ECID. Is this possible? Or do they need to have clicked through?

It's only on clicks as only then the relevant cookies are read/created.

During open no cookies are checked, i.e. no known visitor ID. Also with e.g. using Outlook or so, anyway the cookie from the web browser containing ECID won't be known
