Need guidance on enabling SMTP connection in Adobe campaign Classic V7

Hi All,
I want to enable a successful SMTP (Office 365 Exchange) connection from Adobe Campaign  Server in order to trigger and send out emails directly from AC instance like Campaign MTA. The purpose is to utilise & leverage the on-Prem SMTP exchange server for sending out emails in the scenario when Adobe Mid-source servers are down due to any technical issue for a limited time span. 

Any particular doc link would help or any implemented use case too.
