Adobe Workfront General

Description - I am totally thrilled about the new feature of being able to add external lookup fields to custom forms to call external APIs.I would love to be able to differ between the shown option, which comes from one JSON path (like $.data[*].name) and the value which is finally saved (like from $.data[*].id) as this is also possible using general dropdown fields. Why is this feature important to you - There often is a difference between the shown option and the value in behind on dropdown fields. How would you like the feature to work - similar to general dropdown fieldsCurrent Behaviour - only one JSON path possible

Description - it would be great to have a row at the bottom of the Expenses page that totals up the costs. Why is this feature important to you - So I dont have to go to the Project summary to look at the totals. How would you like the feature to work - sum up the expenses and show at the bottom of the page or put a field at the top that sums up the totals.Current Behaviour - No total available on the Expenses Page

General thought/feedback for Adobe Workfront-for L&C/proofing queues, I wish there was a box we could check that stated "make the same proof due at the same time and date for all steps" and automatically applied for each group Right now you have to manually set the dates instead of allowing them to all be the same. Tedious and time consuming.

It would be nice if I could set up different “levels” of aggregator functions / expressions. I have run into this problem a couple of times but especially when trying to get correct percentages but my example will be simple. I am trying to create a report to look at Users and their hours. User YTD Hours is a set number that will be the same in base row. (non grouping row)In the 1st grouping, I need the aggregator to MAX so I can see the correct number of hours for the Owner. In the 2nd grouping, I need the aggregator to SUM so I can see the correct number of hours that total for two of the Owners. In the 3rd grouping, I need to the aggregator to SUM again so I can see the total number of hours on a company level. My Idea: Set them up like the groupings. Make the last aggregator function the same for the next groupings if no more is needed or written in.Example:aggregator.0.function=MAXaggregator.0.valuefield=aggregator.0.valueformat=aggregator.1.function=SUMaggregator.1.valuefield=aggreg

Description - Would like to be able to identify the Task Status (e.g. In-Progress) via the Workload Balancer. Why is this feature important to you - Sometimes it looks like someone has spare capacity, but if we could identify the scheduled task(s) that have not yet been started ,this would give us a better idea if the spare capacity was still available. How would you like the feature to work - Either an icon, flag or colour on the task within the WLB would indicate the status.Current Behaviour - You can't see the task status, only the project status colour via settings (as shown below).

Request that project managers could move time to correct task instead of rejecting and pushing back on the user. Can we move this process to a one-click approval instead of having to go back in and delete, reenter elsewhere Currently it is multiple screens and clicks

When a user refreshes the schedule or recalculates the timeline, would like the refresh to go back to the row the user was looking at rather than refresh to the top of the page.

We have always had the need to tie expenses to our Workfront projects, but have found the functionality to be lacking. In particular, our organizational and governance structure requires the support of multiple teams throughout the budgeting/invoicing/payment process and no single person or team truly owns the overall process. It is also important to note, that our finance/accounting teams use a different software, so we are looking at integrations between the tools. Until then, we would like the ability to more thoroughly track our invoice process within our work management tool so everything is in one place.    Ideally, we would like expenses to be more closely integrated with requests/issues. If an expense could be submitted like an issue, it would allow us to: Provide a space for documents to be attached Attach approval processes and routing rules Associate statuses with the expense/invoice process Convert (if necessary) into an expense line item (like requests being con

Please let us add screenshots to comments or updates, as in JIRA. These images do not need to be revision-controlled, like a document, but we need to be able to easily share images within the team, and would prefer to stop using email or OneNote for this purpose.

Description - Would like a better selection of information that can be added to project headers. Specifically, would be very helpful to add "Priority" to the headerWhy is this feature important to you - This is a key piece of information while working on projects, and currently it is very burried in the project details. Having this in the header would make work much more efficient and easier for all our usersHow would you like the feature to work - Ability to add via layout templatesCurrent Behaviour - No ability to add "Priority" to project headers. Information that can be added is very limited.

I'd like the ability to simply set a flag light "inlinediting=no" when I want to turn-off inline editing on a specific column of information. We had to work-around some limitations in Workfront that tied the value of one field to another field so closely that I want to make sure that dependency kicks-off any time someone changes data in the first field (such as doing mock cascading fields). Since this dependency doesn't carry over into to reports I want to force users back to the custom form to make changes. To do THAT I need to be able to disable inline editing for that field.Doing it by leaping into text mode and doing some calculation on the value to stop it from being editable is very kludgy and non-intuitive.

Description - Currently, Workfront cancels automatic resource leveling anytime more than one person is assigned to a task. However, all of the information needed to execute this effectively (e.g., allocation percentages/hours, etc.) is present in Workfront. In many cases, automatic resource leveling is a critical feature because it automatically takes care of numerous, very complicated timeline adjustments that are difficult or impossible to do manually. However, it is unusable in the very common scenario where there are multiple assignees. This idea is to request that resource leveling is not canceled with multiple assignees. I would throw in there also that resource leveling be compatible with the Effort Driven duration type and any other features it is currently not compatible with. Why is this feature important to you - In many cases, automatic resource leveling is a critical feature because it automatically takes care of numerous, very complicated timeline adjustmen

Would be useful to get a sense of time spent on our proofs by licensed (Work or greater) and for that time to roll up to the project it is attached. This should be in a way simpler than managing the proof plus the separate task. It should also improve the time tracking for proofs and where it is being applied within the job for better insights into this ongoing pain point. Let me know if I need to rewrite this to be clearer.

Description -In the financial services industry access management has become a critical issue. It would be great to have an easy way to restrict our users from sharing Proofs with  non-recognized users. We think we can restrict this somewhat, but once anyone is in the Proof, they can go to the share icon and type in anyone's email address and send a link to the Proof.Current Behaviour - Today anyone tagged in a Proof can share it with anyone, anywhere. That presents a problem when you're trying to control access.

We'd like to have an option in Workfront Fusion to send repeated notifications when a Scenario is made inactive by Workfront Fusion because a connection is no longer valid.  When a Scenario is made inactive through the Workfront Fusion platform at this time we may receive one notification that the scenario was set to inactive by Fusion.  We encountered a situation recently where a notification was not sent due to a connection error and caused a Fusion Scenario to be down for an extended amount of time.  Having the ability to send repeated notifications would ensure minimal downtime the next time a connection is severed unexpectedly.

For purposes of coverage, as well as on agency projects and corporate wide initiatives, to have co-(or more) project owners. We would like the ability to add multiple owners, either within the project owner field or as a separate field for additional owners. This would also help us in onboarding our agencies into workfront, since we use the sponsor section to add them to the projects.

Description -For projects that include an approval process, there  is no way to create a report that groups projects by the approval stage they currently reside in (stage 1,2,3...etc) or by the user/team assigned as an approver. My users need to have clear visibility only on the projects they need to action/approve.  Right now, they only see that on their home page via the "Awaiting my approval" widget- which is not efficient. As someone who intends to leverage the approval process feature in projects, there needs to be a way to create refined reports that can pull the specific data that we need. Why is this feature important to you -  Needed for enhanced reportingHow would you like the feature to work - As described aboveCurrent Behaviour - Under the current setup, a report can be created to pull all projects that are "Pending Approval" with a column "Approvers & Status" that shows the approval stage and which team needs to action it.  Howev

DescriptionWhen entering time via a timesheet view, I have the ability to add Notes to the hour entry by clicking the "+ Comment" that appears below the hour.  The same mechanism doesn't exist in the "Log Time" view attached to the Tasks Update screen.Timesheet view:Log Time view:Why is this feature important to youFirst, consistency in how the UI works for similar things across the various UI elements/areas.  Second, the need to input comments can be required by business processes (and we enforce this via Fusion, for example). How would you like the feature to workJust use the same input component that allows the comment input in both places.Current BehaviorThe Log Time mechanism doesn't take in notes.

Need to have the ability to print summary of all comments that appear in the Updates tab on a project.

Description - I would love to able to set a name as well as a label for sectionsWhy is this feature important to you - This would help to be able to differentiate between sections used in different contexts. Sometimes the name of a section repeats itself what is technically not possible to set up, as it has to be unique. I would prefer an (internal) name, which acts as the unique "primary key".I know, that I can use sections in multiple custom forms, but as described, would like to be able to have more flexibility here. If I use a label in more than one custom form, I am not able to modify the label later only for one custom form without needing to create a new section with the new label name. How would you like the feature to work - Similar to custom fields, where we have a name, which is used internally and a label, which is the display name.Current Behaviour - Only unique display names possible

Description - Would like for the Awaiting My Approval area to be a scroll list like the legacy home is/was versus clicking through pages to see proofsWhy is this feature important to you - This is a concern that users can only see 5 proofs per page and have to continue to click through the pages to see more proofs. This is concerning as we sometimes have projects that have 10+ proofs at the same time and this could leave the door open for users to miss proofs that went to that same project if they are falling onto the next page. How would you like the feature to work - Would like to have scrolling like Legacy Home offered to remove the clicks from users and possible room for users to miss reviewing proofs for projects when there are more than 5+ proofsCurrent Behaviour - Does not exist

We would like to see the Risk section updated to include a Consequence column added. Thus allowing the calculation of a risk score by multiplying the Probability and Consequence. We would like to transition our excel based risk tool into Workfront.

Description - Our organization has a need to be able to customize in-app notification like we can do for emailWhy is this feature important to you - We are beginning to do more team based assignments, and the increased in-app notifications that sends out are overwhelming and unnecessary to us. How would you like the feature to work - An added column to the current notification settings to indicate if the notification are wanted in the notification area of Workfront.Current Behaviour - No ability to customize the in-app notification at all. View and manage in-app notifications | Adobe Workfront

Description -In Workfront Fusion, implementing a break/retry module at the scenario level rather than for individual modules within that scenario offers a cleaner and more efficient approach. By applying this method, errors like the common 503 error can trigger automatic retries for the entire scenario, reducing clutter and simplifying management. This centralized approach streamlines error handling and ensures smoother execution of workflows, enhancing overall productivity. Why is this feature important to you - There are times when executions failed due to 503 and didn't got automatic retries as we do not include break/ retry handler for that moduleHow would you like the feature to work - By Implementing some logic for break/ retry logic occuring at scenario levelCurrent Behaviour - Currently I have to set break/ retry handler for each module and there could be a lot of modules in the scenario and implementing for all of them might not be a feasible approach.

In the settings of the Workload Balancer you can currently have it not display hour allocations from completed projects (very useful). We would like the same option for projects that are On Hold and Canceled. This would aid tremendously in planning more accurate management of work resources.
