Adobe Workfront General

I've looked through Workfront One resources and I couldn't find why certain tasks appear in Blue and others appear in Pink on the gantt chart and I've been asked to provide an answer, can anyone help explain why there's a color deviation on how tasks appear in the gantt chart? Do the colors represent anything? To us, it seems pretty random what color each task is assigned but we want to make sure we're not missing any visible cues.

Our video department refuses to work with Projects, so each video is a Request with a Proof attached to it (and a custom form that details the request). If there is an ongoing project (ie produce an ABC video new version once per week) they keep the ABC Request open and add a new Proof to it every week for approval. One request may have 100 video proofs in it, for example.Gracie is a Review license, and has been an approver on all of 100 videos but she doesn't have access to see the list of Proofs, and also doesn't see the Request in her view unless she does a search on the video name, then it maybe comes up for her, maybe not. Some of the Proofs are archived because they are a few months oldThe owner of the Request Queue can see all the videos in the Documents tab, no problem. So can I (Admin view)How can Gracie see the list of all the videos in any request, at any time? What access do I need to give to her for this? Or is the real solution (which admittedly I haven't trie

We are looking for a way for project owners to track the amount of hours logged to a project. Ideally we would have the project owner approve time for the project and that in turn is synced with the timesheets but that doesn't seem to be an option. So I was curious what other options are for managing the amount of time logged to projects to make sure we're still within the scope of work.

Hi Everyone,I hope someone can help and make me feel less crazy. 😜 I have templates that our teams use to create projects. In the template, the tasks have "Revenue Type" marked as either "Not Billable" or "Role Hourly". The idea was that they should not be deciding which tasks are billable vs. non billable. I was thinking that when they create projects from the template where the tasks are already classified, it would automatically assign that revenue type to their newly created project, but this is not happening. Instead, all of their projects are created and tasks are showing with revenue type "Not Billable". Is my thinking not accurate or is there a mystery setting somewhere that I need to enable to ensure that when new projects are created with the template, the revenue type that is identified on the template auto assigns to the projects? Thanks so much for any help and insights. 😎 Erica

Looking for the community's opinion on this before I submit something to the idea exchange...In Classic, when an object was pending approval the "Edit Custom Forms" link did not appear. In the New Experience, when an object is pending approval, the edit pencil is available and when you click it all fields open up for editing. Even those fields that can't be edited while an approval is pending. You can make all kinds of changes, but when you click Save, you get the error "An issue with a 'Pending Approval' status cannot be edited. You can modify the issue by changing the status."If you've made extensive changes, that's a real soul-crusher for the experienced Workfront-er who knows they should have checked the status first. But for the in-experienced or less frequent user, it's confusing and a generally bad experience.I'm told this is considered to be working as designed because there are certain fields on the object that can be edited

I have a report where i need to call attention to "late" completed tasks but can't quite seem to get it right. I want to highlight the row when the Last Update Date is later than the Plan Start. See the image.

I'm trying to pull a User report with Project and Task assignments and want to group by home team. The only field I seem to be able to add for team data includes all teams the user is assigned to.

I've tried Grouping by start date - the report will display grouped but November follows December instead of displaying ahead of it. I've added and removed Task Name because even when I don't sort by that field, the report displays sorted by it. I'm confused and would appreciate any input. Thanks!

Seems color sorting is primary, and what I would want to be secondary would be the TIME part of the Date/Time field driving the display of the item. Any secret methods or is this an item for wishlist?

Hi everyone, For this year’s Leap, I had a session about how the role of hourly estimations is slowly decreasing as the work becomes more creative (if you haven’t had a chance to watch it - you can watch it here). If you have any questions about the content, I would be happy to reply! Since I’m located in Armenia, my answers will be delayed, but I’ll make sure to answer as soon as I get back online. To kick things off, how relevant do you think tracking hours is to your planning processes and the nature of work your people are doing?

Currently the starting date of the‚ work week in Workfront is Sunday. I have a request to see if the day can be changed to Monday. This request is not for the timesheet profile, it is setting we would like when creating report groupings by week. I have looked within the browser settings, with limited success. Has anyone found a solution to this type of request.

Not sure if this is a Microsoft Outlook setting or a Workfront one. A member of a request queue team is on vacation, and her out-of-office replies are going to people who submit requests in Workfront. Is there a way to stop those automatic emails from sending because it's giving the impression that the request won't be worked on until she returns from vacation?

I had this on a calculated field on a custom form. It's set to a specific status name.IF(ISBLANK({INPD Status In Progress - Time Stamp})="TRUE"&Status="INP",$$NOW,INPD Status In Progress - Time Stamp}). It got accidentally taken off the form and when I put it back on the form, it took it out of the calculation section. Luckily, I had it in the description but when I went to add it back into the calculation section, it gives me the invalid error. Any ideas on how to get it back for reporting?

On a custom form, we have two custom date fields; one for an Event and one for a Digital Event. The digital event includes the time of day, while the event date does not (which is why we need two separate fields). I would like to create a calculated date field bringing in those two dates ("Calendar Date") so I can use the custom date feature on a calendar report. The team wants to see both Events and Digital Events together in one filter option. I thought I could use the "or" expression of || between the two fields, but it doesn't look like that works. Can anyone think of another way I should approach this so that I can get to one calculated date field?

We are making a few changes to modernize email as part of the 20.3 release. These changes are available now in preview for all customers. We would like to expand this to a few customers in production to collect additional feedback about rollout with the 20.3 release. Outbound email changes: All email from Workfront will come from notifications@my.workfront.com. This includes automated alerts and user to user communication.Previously, System administrators could add a custom email address in the Email Setup area. An authentication mechanism "DKIM" will be included in outgoing email to enhance security. All email will be sent from Workfront servers. Previously, System administrators could configure a custom SMTP server. Inbound email POP reply changes: System administrators will no longer have the ability to configure a custom POP email server for incoming email replies to notifications. If you are willing to be part of this early release group for the email changes, please

Hello!I am using a straightforward value expression in a report column, and I'd like to add a line break between the percent complete output and the condition. valueexpression=IF({DE:Support Project Type} = 1, CONCAT({percentComplete}," % Complete; Condition = ",{condition})) So that the output looks like: 75% Complete;Condition = On Track Can anyone guide me to the syntax to insert a line break between?Thank you!

I am trying to import a chunk of tasks using kick-starts. I can get the tasks in to the correct project, but I am apparently not using the right columns for start date, duration and planned hours. The columns I was trying to use (based on the Help Articles: Importing Data.. and Kick-Start Scenario) are: setDurationType setDurationUnit setPlannedDuration setPlannedStartDate setWorkUnit A D 21 09/07/2017 455 Does anyone know if these are incorrect? If so, does anyone know what the correct columns to use are? Thank you! Dagan Peterson Mountain West Farm Bureau MIC

For this year's Leap, my session was about transitioning roles and shifting priorities in an organization and how Workfront can help navigate those changes. I hope you all enjoyed my session (if you haven't had a chance to watch it yet, you can watch it here). Let me know if you have any questions! I'd love to hear how you've navigated changing roles, priorities, and processes in your organization.

Hi Everyone, it is has been a while since I have posted a question but have been trying to figure this one out with no success. I have a Project Custom Form that has a “Primary Market” field. It is a drop down list with options such as Academic, Corporate, etc. from which users can choose from. Now, behind the scenes of this field, we had assigned ‚Äòvalues’ to each of these options. For example, Academic = 10, Corporate = 9 and so on. Now, we have created a Task Custom Form, where I want to pull in this information from the project level. On the Task Custom Form, I created a calculated data field using Project.Primary Market as the calculation, and the calculated data field for ‚ÄòFormat’ indicates ‚ÄòText’. It works BUT it is showing the ‚Äòvalue’ number and not the associated text. I want it to show “Academic” instead of “10” on the Task Custom Form. I am sure it is probably one little thing/code that is escaping me at the moment. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!
