Question

Building a project from CSV and then adding Documents

I have a Fusion scenario that creates a Workfront project from a CSV file emailed to a request queue. Some emails also include supporting files that must currently be added to the project manually. I want the scenario to automatically upload these files to the project’s Documents folder. The scenario can distinguish the CSV used to create the project from the supporting files by their extensions. How can I ensure it processes the CSV first, waits for the project to be created, and then uploads the remaining attachments? Can the scenario loop through the attachments twice, or temporarily store the supporting files until the project is available?

Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

At some point after the module where you create the project, to ensure that is complete first, use a set of Download Document and Upload Document modules.

Of if you’ve already downloaded all the files in order to filter for the CSV to create the project, you should be able to pick up the other files from that download and just use the Upload Document module after the project has been created.

I would probably download the files, filter for the one to create the project, create that project, then download the files again and filter out that file for creating the project to upload the rest.

OR

download the files, add a router, then:

on the first route add a filter for the CSV file to create the project and go ahead and create that project, then a Tools module to set the project ID

then on the second route filter out that CSV, add a Tools module to get the project ID and upload the rest of the docs on the newly created project

Hi @FrankatMSC,

Here’s what I’d try (but I may not fully understand your challenge):

Store the filtered (CSV removed from it) array of attachments in a variable and the reference of the CSV attachment in another variable.

Proceed with creating the WF project using the details in the CSF file.

Then iterate through the array of the (non-CSV) attachments (if any) and create the documents in the project.

If I’m missing something, please provide more details. How does the output of the module look like that provides the details of the attachments?
