Workload Balancer default filter in Layout Template

Is it possible to set a default filter in Workload Balancer? I would assume you can do this in Layout Templates, but I do not see a way to do this? 

The problem I am having is users that are going to the WLB for the first time do not have a good default filter selected, so when they click on the WLB they’re inadvertently trying to load a ton of data and the page takes forever to load or times out.

Have you tried creating a filter in WLB and then sharing it with those that need access? They you can train your users to use that filter. I do not know of a way to set default filter for WLB in the layout templates as this object is not an option in the “Customize what users see” drop down.

That is what I do now. It is not optimal because users initially struggle to locate filters in the WLB and, more importantly, users may not even get the opportunity to locate the filters because the page crashes from trying to load so much data.
