Task owners not granted contribute access to task automatically

Hello - we may have missed a setting. We have a project that we copied, but now that task owners do not have contribute access to their tasks. One thing we did when we copied it was changed the Portfolio from PMO to Supply Chain - but I don't think that would have anything to do with access settings for that? Under Project Settings, we have "When someone is assigned a task, grant them contribute access to the task" is checked. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Thank you!

Have you verified that they have access to the right options for a contributor? They have to have the the following access to be able to edit it...

Object permissions

  • Contribute permissions to a task to edit it in the Task Details area

  • Manage permissions to a task to edit it in the Edit Task box

  • Contribute or higher permissions to the project

I would look at the sharing options for the portfolio.

You can test it by moving it back to the original portfolio and see if their access changes. If in one portfolio it works, and in another it does not work, then it has to be the portfolio permissions.
