Setting Planned Start and Completion Dates

I am trying to set the planned start and planned completion dates on a project. When changed they default to tomorrows date 9/11/24. As a hack i created a task with an end date of 12/30/25 and can now change the project dates but the actual tasks in the project have a similar problem with planned and completion dates. 

 

Any thoughts? Bill

Hi Bill, a few questions come to mind initially:

  • What Schedule Mode does the project use? Start Date or Completion Date?
  • Is this a workflow with chained predecessor tasks? Or are you setting up one-off tasks that are unlinked?
  • What Task Constraints are you using for the tasks?

hey Bill, 

Most of these relate to the selection made under project overview > project dates > Schedule Mode you have. If its Start Date, you should be able to have the project set by planned start date and Completion date its project completion date. 

You should try updating schedule mode and check.
