Reporting Planned vs Actual Hours (By Week/Month/Year/etc.)

Hello. I've tried searching and experimenting but can't come up with an answer on this.... Has anyone been able to get a report that shows Planned vs Actual hours by month (or a time period)? I'm trying to avoid use of Completion Date for grouping by date because that could take hours from one month and allocate them in a different month if the task is spread out over a few weeks. Ideally, I'm looking for how many hours were planned for each month on a project and how many hours were actually worked? In a separate thread, I'm asking how to report Total Planned Hours vs. Remaining Hours or Total Projected Hours
