Replacing form field but maintaining logic

It would be really helpful to be able to "replace" one form field with another but maintain the assigned logic for the original field.

Often we share forms across our company, but some fields have to be customized for different teams. And once that field is replaced, all logic has to be rebuilt. It's tedious and time consuming.
