Proofing Tool - Failed To Generate when User is Manager VS Supervisor

Does anyone know why the proofing tool would give you the error message "proof failed to generate", when the user is set to "Manager" vs "Supervisor in the users "proof permission profile"?

If i change it to Supervisor it works, but if it's Manager i get the error message.

is the user trying to generate a proof on a newer version of an existing file that they didn't upload? I think manager users do not have permissions in this area.

Yes that is exactly what is happening. One designer uploaded original proof and a different designer make the change and recreated the proof. Thanks for the info. I'll have to look up the differences in the permissions for manager's vs supervisors. Thank you.

We are experiencing the same thing, and I can correct the users’ profiles, but what seems to be happening is a random downgrade on that setting.  We found the best setting for most of our users is Supervisor, so I set their profiles accordingly.  Every now and then a user consistently gets an error uploading proofs and when the profile is checked, the Proof Permission Profile has been set to Manager.

How could this be happening?  What would cause a Proof Permission Profile to suddenly downgrade when the System Admin has made no change?
