Proof deadlines removed from proof unexpectedly

Has anyone been experiencing an issue where a (Proof HQ) stage deadline is removed from an automated proof after it has started? We have seen it sporadically over the past couple of months, but is hard to reproduce for me to place a ticket.

Any insight into a cause or a possible solution would be appreciated.

Hi ​@David-M-Allen , One possible cause is when a workflow template is reapplied or proof stages are edited after the proof has already started. In some cases, the stage deadline can get reset or removed, especially if the workflow template itself does not define a deadline for that stage.

Another thing worth checking is reviewer reassignment or moving reviewers between stages, as edits to the stage setup can sometimes impact the existing deadline configuration.

I’d recommend reviewing the proofing activity for affected proofs to see whether the deadline removal aligns with a user action, workflow update. If you continue seeing this and can identify a reproducible pattern, it would be helpful to capture proof IDs, timestamps, screenshots, and any related user actions and opening a support ticket with Adobe Workfront.

Thanks for your reply. I have already looked at a couple of the things you mentioned above, but not all. I will look into the rest with the users to see if I can identify a reproducible pattern. Thanks again.

All stages of the proof need to have a deadline in order for the entire proof to have a deadline. I would check that there isn’t a “Workfront” stage that’s automatically added by another user that’s not on the proof simply opening the proof.

@KellieGardner thanks for the reply. Unfortunately none of the proofs had stages added via opening the proof by an unassigned user. I have a couple of other things to look into with the users to see if I can identify a reproducible pattern. If I find something tangible I will post here again.
