Currently there is limited functionality for Programs. It seems they are simply a container for a group of projects. It would be helpful to increase the capabilities to allow for Master & Child programs for larger initiatives spanning multiple years/portfolio's/etc

I do agree with you for having additional functionality for programs. I would also like to see:

A way to create a template that will create a “Program” with multiple Projects.
A way to copy a Program that already contains multiple projects.

I agree with everything here as well... I would also like to see Status's for Programs and a Dash similar to a Portfolio on a Program

I'd also like to be able to create program tasks - tasks that are required for the program overall not just specific to a project within the program.

I agree with everything here, I would also like to be able to close out a program (related to status above). This is some basic functionality that is missing and we have to do workarounds so they dont muddy up everyone's list.

Having master and child programs would be ideal for the way our Technology department work is organized.
