Priorities table items for projects not in current status

Hello - Does the priorities table in Workfront Home display items (tasks) only when the project status is set to current, and not show them when the status is planning? Can someone confirm please?

Short answer:

Tasks only appear in the Home → Priorities experience when the project is set to Current (or a status that equates to Current).
If a project is in Planning, its tasks do not display in the Priorities table/worklist.

Planning vs. Current project status

  • Planning projects
    • Tasks and issues assigned to users do NOT populate their Work List / Home.
    • Only approvals and accepted requested work appear.
  • Current projects
    • Tasks and issues assigned to users DO populate the Work List / Home.
    • Users can actively work on them and receive notifications.

This is by design and is intended to prevent “planned/future” work from showing up prematurely.

Hi Manish! I checked the documentation (I wasn’t sure either), and it looks like “Current” (or a status that equates to Current) is the only way for the tasks to display.

“Projects must be in Current status or a status that equates current in order to display projects as well as their child tasks and issues.”

Hopefully that helps!

Thanks for the confirmation @CynthiaBoon and @AutumnEa3. It would be nice to have a setting to enable items from status other than current.

A workaround would be to create a new status as Planning, but set the value as current and then this would show on the Homepage
