While testing the Document enhancements scheduled for inclusion with the 2017.3 Workfront release, we noticed that there is no longer the ability for our users to paste documents from the clipboard.

According to the Workfront Customer Care team (ticket #1111643), they spoke with the product manager over this area and after having looked at their metrics on how much this option was used they have decided to remove this feature from the new documents are.

Our user community uses this feature on a regular basis. I am hopeful that we can get the vote count up to add this feature back to the tool after the 2017.3 release.

    Oh wow - I hadn't seen this was going away yet. We use this daily for trouble screenshots and it makes things so much more convenient than having to create separate local documents. Please don't make it go away!!

    This is/was a great feature of Workfront which I wish MORE systems had. Please don't take it away!

    We use the copy/past feature all the time for screenshots. It would be terribly inconvenient to have to save the screenshot in order to upload it.

    I hope this isn't another case like with the document check-in/check-out feature which was removed and then had to be re-instated after a customer outcry. Better to leave it in the product, I reckon! :)

    We need this back. Our PMs are now resorting to sending screenshots via email, taking it out of Workfront!!!

    All of our "Planners" used this functionality all of the time - it has most definitely *not* made adding documents to Workfront more streamlined and intuitive. Just the opposite is true!

    ALL:

    A lot has happened in this last month! I have been in touch with the management Team at Workfront and - great news!- they have agreed to bring the copy/paste functionality back! The challenging part, though, is they claim they can only bring it back during the next "Release" in March 2018.

    I'm thinking if we speak up just a bit more, they may determine it's a true priority and bring it back sooner.

    I'd really love to understand the logic of removing it. Was it really very difficult to maintain? Was it a third party license they didn't want to renew? Does it push some users towards ProofHQ somehow?

    ??? I suspect it may have something to do with taking up Workfront's server space? Screenshots/jpg's are notoriously large; but I'm sure there's a way around ...

    We're getting concerns around this as well. It adds steps for users which is the opposite of what we need as adoption is somewhat fragile. Any possibility of rolling this back?
