Parent/Child Projects

I apologize if this is duplicate but I did not see it anywhere. We have a need to create parent projects that would live between the Program level and the current project level. While I understand that the work could be completed in one project using parent/child tasks we have many departments that would prefer to have their projects tracked separately. There would be many child projects which would roll up to many parent projects and into ONE program.

I saw some talk about this on the Global forum but that was it. Please help me vote up this feature request!

Thanks!!

Michael

Yes, Sarah's idea is a very good use case.

I consider this the one MAJOR draw back of Workfront. Working for an in-house creative team, we want to be able to completely own schedules and projects. At the same time, other teams want/need to own their aspect of a project. Workfront has tons to offer, but to me this is an obvious drawback of the tool that should have been already addressed/fixed. The current configuration (even with portfolio and programs) doesn't work for most companies. Or at least not for companies that are trying to use Workfront across all departments/areas.

I am also for this! +1 here.

This ask is becoming business critical for us. The nature of our business and our operational evolution is getting us to the point where this is going to be necessary or we will in a pickle. I would really like to know when this is added to the product road map.

Ditto for us! This is something that would be a HUGE help to our team.

Ditto here! I'm guessing we just need to deal with this via a task report and flags in the 'sub' projects.

I'm glad to see this idea is under consideration. How many more upvotes does this need to get moved into the development queue?

I was told by the Product team that is not on the Product Roadmap for development. That might change next year. There is a Workfront Partner that is developing an solution that might be able to do the same thing. Of course, that will come with a cost.

Hmmm....you do have to wonder what's the point of the Idea Exchange voting if customer demand doesn't end up with development.

It's next year. Any chance this will land on the product roadmap for 2019? Huh, huh, huh, huh?....
