Make content options of drop-down custom fields depend on previous custom form

Currently a drop-down custom field shows all possible options. We would like to have the option to filter the visible contents of a drop-down based on conditions from earlier custom fields.

So for example, we have the option to show or hide custom fields in a form based on the value of the previous custom fields - so this would be similar, but for custom field values rather than the entire custom fields.
