Kanban Boards and documents

If I add a non-connected card to a Kanban board (a card that is not connected to a project), is there any way that I can attach a document to the card? I feel like the answer is "no" but just thought I'd check.

Non-connected there is no way to connect.  IF folks submit via request queue, you can attach the docs to request, and use the pop-out icon on the connected card to go to that request to see any attachments.
