Help with a calculated field

Hi, I need to match the customised date field (Creative Due Date) to the Planned Completion Date and have been wondering if I could use the calculated field for this purpose. I have a Creative Due Date in the issue custom form that marketing folks are inputting and would like this date to be automatically also the Planned Completion Date for the issue once submitted. Is that possible? I never used calculated fields so shooting in the dark. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Marta

You can create a calculation for your custom field that pulls in the Planned Completion Date. Paste the following into your calculation: 

 

 

{plannedCompletionDate}

@martaso2 are you converting your issues into tasks? Projects? @randyroberts your response was my first thought too but if this is converted to a task or project then we’d need to tweak this approach?

@madalyn_destafney No we do not convert issues to tasks or projects for this specific team so I am not concerned about project timelines.
