Enable access to Resource Planner data via the API

Description -

Why is this feature important to you - Our data engineering team is working to leverage system data using the API but cannot access everything they need without running reports.

How would you like the feature to work - Same as all the other data.  Accessible via API call.

Current Behaviour - Reports are required to pull the data.

Need this, Workfront becomes less important without the ability to pull this data out.

any movement on this?

I haven't heard anything. Last time I talked to Adobe, they didn't seem to have plans to implement this. There are probably ways to get all the data needed to recreate the type of data presented in the planner, but it requires calculations and transforming of the data beyond a simple API call.

Looking for a way to programmatically pull Resource Planner data, specifically the monthly role-based allocation data the Resource Planner UI displays. Manual UI exports work but hit truncation limits at scale and don't support automated reporting or BI integration. This request comes from a large Adobe Client I am working with as part of ACS.

The existing search endpoints don't expose this:

Endpoint Returns Why it doesn't work
/project/search Project metadata No resource allocation data
/task/search Task records Planned allocations not stored at task level
/hour/search Logged hours only No planned/budgeted hours
/assignment/search Task assignments No role-level aggregations or future planning data

The computed allocations live in Resource Planner's specialized objects (Resource Pools, Budget Hour allocations, Role allocations). The RSPL (Resource Pool) object exists in the API but doesn't carry the monthly aggregations the UI shows.

Either of these would solve it:

  • Expose the underlying objects via search — e.g. /resourceBudget/search, /roleAllocation/search — alongside the existing /resourcePool/search. Preferred path; likely smaller lift.

  • Add a dedicated export endpoint (e.g. /resourcePlanner/export) that returns the same data as the UI export, with portfolio/program/date filters and pagination.

Has anyone solved this another way, or seen it on a roadmap?
