Currently it is not possible to identify whether a Dashboard is still being used. We need a default View which shows this, same as is available for Reports.

Please expand usage statistics to dashboards. Tks!

Would be very powerful to know when it was last actually used.

This would be very helpful for system maintenance/cleanup.

So no movement on this?  Disappointing as this info would be helpful for clean-up.

This would be extremely helpful. It’s kind of strange it doesn’t exist.

While there isn’t a simple out of box way to show dashboard usage, this is more-or-less possible by querying the reports on the dashboards. If a report shows that it hasn’t been viewed in the past year, and it is ALSO located on a dashboard, then by definition this also means that the dashboard hasn’t been used and can be discarded. I therefore advise that you audit your reports regularly and include a column that shows which dashboards it is located on. If the report needs to be deleted due to lack of use, you should delete the dashboards before deleting the report.

@skyehansen  I remember at one point, report usage counts did not update for dashboards. Meaning if I looked at a dashboard the usage counts on the reports inside the dash did not show today’s date or add to the view count. Has this changed over the years to now update report usage when a dashboard with the report is viewed?

I really only started auditing dashboards 6 years ago but as of 6 years ago, this was the functionality. 😊

Bumping this as we are also in need of a good report clean up!
