Chart that shows which dates to enter for which task constraint type

I remember finding this on Workfront One months ago, but I can't find it now.

One of the more common questions I receive from my users is why their dates aren't updating.  This almost always boils down to the user not understanding task constraints.  For example, they enter a Start On date and a Due On date but leave the Duration at 0 and the Task Constraint to As Soon As Possible.  Once they click to enter the task, the Start On date stays, but the Due On date is overridden because As Soon As Possible only cares about Start On and Duration.

I'm looking for a chart that shows what inputs should be used for each Task Constraint type, i.e.

As Soon As Possible = Start On + Duration

Fixed Dates = Start On + Due On

etc.

Is there such a chart out there on Experience League already?  If not I think I'll make my own.

Thank you!

Hi Chloe,

Here's one document discussing task constraints. It's not exactly what you're requesting but maybe it can help.

Best,

Rachelle
