Can I Bulk Recalculate Expressions With New UI?

I’ve added a custom expression to projects that calculates the fiscal quarter and year in which the project was created. I’d like to use this for past AND future reporting. Currently, all projects display “N/A” so I’ll need to recalculate the expressions of at least the past year’s worth of projects.

I tried to use the bulk edit method described in the documentation here, but the UI is different from the screenshots, and I don’t see the “recalculate expressions” checkbox.

Does anyone know of another way to do this, or if I’m performing the steps incorrectly? I don’t have access to Fusion, so I can only do this within Workfront itself. Thank you for your help!

Technically, you can do mass recalculations by running a project report that fits your requirements, tick everything and then hit the 3 dots on the report and it should have the Recalculate Expression there.

That said, I did this recently with a massive list of project but maybe it’s taking a long time to recalculate for each project, I did get some reversion to N/A but maybe your project list is not extensive so the above might work for you.

Thank you, that seemed to work!

For anyone who finds this thread in the future looking to do the same, here’s what that looks like:

I had to keep the selection to about 1000 at most in order for the process to succeed. Any larger, and I received a red popup that said the operation failed. I have a report with prompts for entry date that make breaking up all projects a bit easier.

I wish this wasn’t quite as manual, but it will do. Thank you again!
