Automate Task Assignments in a Template based on the user

We have many use cases where a template in Workfront (Template to create a new Project with assigned tasks). So that a task being created - can be assigned to the user via option like -- $$USER.ID

Example we have 50+ people in one of our teams that each has their own Template. All templates are identical except for about 15 tasks that they needs to be assigned to. It would make sense to have a single template - as currently we have to update these about every 2 months. And bulk updating doesn't work.

    ‚This would be excellent, our team in China is complaining about the time it takes to make assignments on new projects. As an interim they create filters for Job Roles, and use bulk editing but this still isn't quick enough. On top of this, they have Browser speed issues which is not a Workfront issue, but this makes the time to assign even longer.

    Thank you for the submission! We think this is a good enhancement to the Workfront platform overall and this product area in particular!

     

    Workfront currently prioritizes large-scale, foundational enhancements such as the new Reporting experience and changes to the core data model, so this item does not fit in our near-term roadmap. As such, I am marking this as Declined now, but we'll keep this in our backlog for the improvements for this area so that we can revisit the decision in the future.
