Aggregator: WF Field vs. Custom Field

We are building a view with a custom field and a native field. When we apply the aggregator to equal SUM, we experience different behaviours.

The custom field will not aggregate; it requires manual input.

The native field will aggregate, it does not require manual input.

We would prefer the custom field to behave in the same way as a native field on the parent task.
