Add a custom form to a dashboard

Hello,

Is it possible to add a custom form to a dashboard?

The custom form needs to be editable since people will have to fill it out and I also need to be able to download it as a pdf file. I am also open to add it via an external file, btw.

The dashboard would be potentially linked to a project (ideally, I want to use this dashboard on all my projects without overwriting information).

Asking this because I'm trying to find a workaround to make the form editable for teammates who don't have a Standard licence and also to review my whole workflow.

Thank you!

    Hi @SBasili,

Is the custom form part of a request queue?

You should be able to use the url of embed code of your queue and add it as an iFrame to the classic dashboard of Workfront (not Canvas).

Other custom forms have no uel or embed code.

Alternative: Write a custom extension using Adobe AppBuilder, but this is a little bit more complex

You can also always build a custom form, host it somewhere and let people fill it (e.g. as a website). Then you can have Fusion take that information and put it on a project if you want to avoid the Standard license issue.

The base problem is that a custom form is always attached to an object, as the data has be stored somewhere. The only object which can be edited by an user which has no Standard license.

I would setup a project as queue and add a custom form where you can select the corresponding project using a Typehead field with the Referenced Object Type “Project”. The data can be processed using Fusion as mentioned by @ninoskuflic.

@ninoskuflic Custom forms itself have no embed code. The request queue is the owner of the embed code.

Yes, I mean a different form that is outside of Workfront, but that is much more complex. I like your idea better with a dedicated request queue and data processing with Fusion. :)
