Anyone know what this error means:

SFDC Error:
MALFORMED_ID: Organization: id value of incorrect type: Waseel\n

My lead score updates arent syncing down to SFDC due to this.

This usually happens if SFDC is expecting an ID (15 or 18 character) but gets something else. Find whichever field on this record contains Waseel and see what type of field it is in SFDC.

Is it just on that record or is it failing across the board? If you recently changed the field type you may want to change it back.

It is just the company name field so this doesnt make sense since not everyone got an error. Just some weird outliers which I cannot see any commonalities between.

There may be validation rules in SFDC that prevent the update from being paseed through. You should ask the SFDC Admin if there are any active validation rules on company name and what they are. We've had issues with validation rules blocking updates like this.  You can exclude the Marketo User from these rules or incorporate the rules into Marketo.

Im the SFDC Admin. There are no validation rules on company name. This company name has all text and no weird characters so there's no reason why it would work for some leads and not others.

Have you made any recent changes in the field management section of Marketo? How many of these are you seeing an error on?

Nothing has changed (that I as the Admin have done) in marketo or salesforce. Only thing different is the UI and other updates Marketo has pushed. May be another bug (it's happened more than once)

Did you figure out how many leads had errors? You should try forcing the leads to sync by selecting them and using the Lead Actions menu. Select Salesforce from the drop down and then choose Sync Lead to SFDC.

If it doesn't error this time, it might've been a bug. If it does error again, you should contact support to have them trouble shoot it.

Ah got it. Marketo was confused by Organization name. We use this for company name sometimes and Marketo does like it. All good now. Thanks

I'm getting the same error. Was the fix in MKTO or SFDC?

There's no generic answer to this.  The error message will indicate which field you were trying to write to.  Based on the value in Marketo which was sent, you can work with your SFDC admin to determine what part of the process needs to be changed.
