Primary Campaign Role and Primary Campaign Source

We have campaigns running in SFDC but not all the opportunities are pulling in. The Primary Role is checked off, yet the Primary Campaign Source is empty. Marketo cannot write into opportunities to change the value, so we have to rely on SFDC to pull it through. We are told that if the primary role is not tagged from the start and tagged later it will not come through and there is nothing we can do.

Any Ideas?

There are some threads on this. The issue is on the SFDC side.

  1. only permit Opp creation from the Contact so that Primary Role or association is made at Creation.
  2. Have a process to find empty Primary Role and work with sales or salesops to backfill Primary Role and Campaign Source
  3. Are you sure that all of those Opps should have Primary Campaign Source? That Role may not have a campaign at the time of Opp creation.
