Phone number not displaying on mobile devices

We have an odd error I can't track down. We have a phone number in the body of an email is standard US format and it is not displaying on mobile devices in outlook or gmail. It looks fine on desktop broswers.

Here is how it looks on desktop:

"If you have immediate questions, please contact us directly at (555) 555-1000."

On an iPhone in gmail it looks like this:

"If you have immediate questions, please contact us directly at               "

All other content, links, images, etc look fine.

Anyone run into this or have any suggestions?

It would help to see the E-mail code. It could be a number of things and without looking at the email code it's impossible to know what is happening. Can you post it here or provide a link download it so we can take a look?
