New Email Program Question

My goal is to track user engagement with my email content that goes out.  I would do this by using a smartlist with triggers "Clicks Email" and "Opens Email", which are some best practices for old email campaigns.

In the flow step, I then use the "Change Program Status" filter to say  Email Blast > Sent or Email Blast > Clicked or openned, so that the activity for each lead will appear in their activity log.

My issue is that with the new Email program, there does not seem to be a flow step as there was with in the old program.  When creating a new smartlist underneath the new email program the "Change Program Status" Filter doesn't allow me to enter the filters above.  Instead, they only offer three options for statuses: Email Send: Engaged/ member/ or not in program, and when I try and change them to the ones above, it says they are invalid for this new email program.

My questions is, what do these new statuses mean and will they affect the email campaign? Are the old ways of tracking user activity even necessary anymore with this new email program?

My worry is that there will be no connection between the raw data for clicks/opens and the individual leads who opened and clicked the email.

Sorry for the long winded question. Any one else experience this?

You will need admin access and then click on Tags. Then select Email Send and edit it.

And just to document, in order to change the program statuses to Deivered, Clicked, Bounced, etc for Email Programs.... you need to add the Smart Campaigns as Local Assets I think. Adding them as regular Smart Campaigns won't work. Correct me if I'm wrong.

That was a bug.  You can do it outside the program.  Let me know if you run into any issues.

How am I able to see who has opened my email, and which email addresses bounced? I know I can tell how many bounced, but I am not sure how I find out who?

Hi,

I am having this same issue, I am using the new email program because of the a/b test functionality however it never moved the recipient through the program steps e.g. I know the person clicked, why do they not move to the clicked stage in the program status.

In a smart campaign flow we would previously direct it to move, however as there is no flow how does this work?

I then need this to sync to salesforce.

Any help will be appreciated.

Cheers,
Bec

In order to move leads through the program statuses, you need to have smart campaigns listening for the behavior and updating the status.  So create a trigger campaign listening for the "click" and then in the flow, use the change program status action.  Be sure to make sure the channel has all the appropriate statuses you want to track set up as well.

Thanks Cheryl,

However when you do that the Salesforce Campaign Sync no longer works.

Is your advice to not use the Sync and create triggers for every action? That seems a little excessive.

What do you mean that the SFDC campaign sync no longer works.  Can you explain what is breaking?

On the triggered smart campaigns I got this notice:

Hopefully you can see that.

Are you able to let me know why?

Hello,

I am having the same issue. I am trying to track opens, clicks in individual smart campaigns and the email within the email program is not available in the drop down.

I tried the email program as a stand alone program and now have moved it into another program as a local asset.  I have clicked on the email program and created new local asset >smart campaign and also tried to create the new local asset by clicking on the "parent program".  However, it is not recognizing the email in the drop down as well.

The email is approved.

Anyone had luck with this?

Thanks!
