Marketo won't send out email template drafts today, November 14th, 2024.

Two of us in our company are having the same issue. I've tried work and personal email addresses.

@daucuskarota , is this a specific email, or all emails?

Has anything changed in your template or emails that might cause them to break (especially velocity tokens)

A few suggestions, most of which potentially only provide inside for not receiving emails to your corporate inbox:

  • Check your "from email" - I was recently testing something in email body content so I hadn't updated the From Email in the settings. Our instance has a default From Email address that isn't from our domain which prevented the email from landing in our inboxes (not sure if this would also apply to personal inboxes):

  • Check with your IT folks to make sure that they haven't accidentally removed the approved Marketo IPs from your allow list processes or that you're not getting caught in your own spam filters/tools
  • As @jo_pitts1 stated, check different emails to be sure it's widespread vs that one email; or create a new version of the email you're having trouble with - sometimes something just goes wonky with an email and a fresh new one does the trick (and you may never know the answer 😋)
  • Check that there are no outages or issues on the Marketo side that are causing hiccups in email sending (this is a stretch because others would likely have issues too and it would be widespread across live and test emails)

Let us know how things go and I hope you're back on track ASAP!

It is apparently due to Adobe's DMARC policy and we have to contact them to add us to the list of accepted senders.

Thanks all for checking in.

That makes little sense. DMARC is protection added to the sender’s From: domain, i.e. your domain.

You don’t have to contact anyone else to alter your DMARC record — you own it. It’s your team that needs to alter your DMARC setup to allow messages from Marketo. Either that or alter your Marketo setup so it passes DMARC. Adobe itself doesn’t need to do anything.

For example, if your domain publishes a strict record that requires messages From: your domain to be DKIM-signed, and you haven’t set up DKIM in Marketo, then your mailserver — and all other mailservers! — should reject email from Marketo. You have to either loosen that policy or (recommended by far) enable DKIM in Marketo.

@daucuskarota ,

given this sounded quite important, can you report back on where you ended up?

Cheers
