Marketo Event app created duplicate

Hi, I just tested the Marketo Event app to potentially use at our next trade show. I added a new lead through the app to see how it syncs back to Marketo and it looks like it's adding the already existing lead as a duplicate.
Has anyone got an idea on how to avoid this?

Also is there a way to add more fields our Sales team has to fill in if they add a new lead through the app?

Anissa,

Marketo shouldn't add dupes. Are you sure the email address is correct? It was probably not the same.

As for adding fields, I don't think you can. Check the ipad docs.

I added my colleague's email address and he is definitely in our database, so not sure what went wrong.

I had the same thing happen - I know this was years ago but did anyone solve for this?
