Is there a way to create an "Input Source" for field update rules?

Hi, I noticed that in the Field Management tab, individual fields can be set up to block updates from various input sources. Is there a way to create a new input source which is not part of the generic list of Input Sources?


Any ideas?

Currently there's no way to add one, However what's missing for you?

We would like to add a service provider as the input source but only allow access to some fields. I think that they would fall either into Web service API, or Web service API - Import to list. But we don't want to block all Web service API as the input source.

So, I'm wondering how to make distinction in the Input Sources.
