Is it possible to add a lead to an engagement program midstream?

Keeping the elementary questions coming... I have a couple people that I'd like to add to our engagement streams, but I don't want them to start at the first email. Is there a way to advance them past the first two emails in the program without actually sending them?

Yes! Use programs that have an Exclusion program status, and use programs instead of emails in the streams. Major use case is for when people download content and your lead nurture promotes pieces of content—you don't want to promote a piece of content they've already downloaded, so you want to skip them for a cast.

Two ways this happens within a Marketo Engagement Program: (1) a lead record has already been sent an email with that email ID (you can see in the URL string after the # when selecting an email) and (2) a lead is already a member of that program, and therefore skips that content and moves to the next. So basically you want to add people to the specific program and whatever business logic you want, add lead records to the program under a seperate "Exclusion" program status (for reporting clarity) through triggered smart campaigns or batch smart campaigns.

If it doesn't look cool, you're probably doing it wrong.
