Adobe Marketo Engage

We have been working on an a persistent issue for a couple months where not all contacts that are obtained from LinkedIn Lead Gen programs are being captured in the corresponding Marketo program. We came to the conclusion with Marketo Support, that the 'Company' field name can cause this integration to fail, and the person will not be recorded within the Marketo program.  This is only happening with records that already exist in our Marketo database. This is inconvienent and we have to check frequently to see if we have any missing leads and manually add them into our programs.  We are wondering if there will be a solution for this anytime soon? 

Hey Community,we started seeing Marketo-SF sync error notifications (see attached) and are confused. Below is the description of the flow based on example of one of the leads:1. Person unsubscribes in Marketo2. Sync goes to SF marking them as "true" for the SF field: Opt out3. Sync goes from SF to Marketo marking our custom field "Hide from Marketo" as true. This means that in SF this lead is hidden from future synchs between Marketo and SF. 4. Then, if there is any attribute update on this lead in Marketo (i.e. vertical update shown on screenshot), then Marketo tries to sync it to SF, and the sync issue notification comes up.We are just confused - is this on our side (Marketo) or on SalesOps side (SF)? Of course "Hide from Marketo" is our own custom field update process, but we are trying to identify where the correction in this process should be made. Hi,  I have been trying to implement a flow step service using the documentation outlined here The documentation clearly states you can use my.tokens in the flowstep context. I have tried many times to do this and have found the tokens to not populate and instead the raw string token key is passed. Below is the payload that is received by my service from Marketo in a 201 POST request. Given that this is a relatively new feature to Marketo I am potentially thinking this may be a bug?  Here is my declaration in the getServiceDefinition. When I create the service in Marketo I can see that I am giving permission to use my token context.  Please may someone from the team assist me in understanding how this is to be properly used? Hi everyone,I'm trying to build out a form where the labels hidden until a user types into that field and the label then appears above. Below is a screenshot of what I'm trying to do. The hint text is in place and everything is styled and good to go, I am just not familiar enough with javascript to get this to work (I'm assuming its a javascript solution?). Note that this needs to happen on a per-field basis. Hello,I currently have a generic text message campaign that goes out to customers who missed a monthly payment on their policy. We would like to start including the amount of money they owe as well as the date the payment was due. Unfortunately this data is only stored within a Custom Object. I tried to use Velocity Scripting in order to populate the text but I do not believe Texts/Webhooks can utilize Custom Object data. Is anyone aware of a workaround for this? Or is it possible to send the data that is within the person Custom Object to the person object so that we can use it?Thanks,Jim

Hello all!Looking to see how others handle this concept. We're working on setting up more tracking to coordinate between multiple channels of marketing.  My initial idea was to set a Channel up with program statuses like: - Added to Program - 10 - Sent Email - 20 - Sent Direct Mailer - 20 - Added to Digital Ad Audience - 20 And so forth, basically encompassing our different strategies within one program. Where it gets tough is that in theory, we're going to use the program members to display ads within our online portal.So, there's possibility someone could both receive an email and see a digital ad. Obviously with program statuses this creates as issue as a Lead can only inhibit one status at a time. Also, attribution gets a bit wonky.Is there any way to create like a overarching program (say Auto Loan Campaign), load in all target Leads and then use sub-programs to break it out by specific channel? I'm assuming not 🙂

We have a lot of old emails that are using an image URL with http instead of https. The image automatically redirects to https if you load it in your browser, but it still appears in these old emails that are using the http link. Is it possible to disable the http URL so the image won't load in emails that use the http URL? Or is it possible to force all the email assets using the http URL to update to the https URL? There are over 12,000 emails using the asset and they'll need to be manually updated, so it's not really feasible. 

Hello!  We are building an exclusion list with all competitor email domains. This list will filter out all competitor leads entering our database both via form fills for download forms and lead imports. I want to however make sure the leads coming via contact us forms on the website are not filtered out even if the email domain matches the competitor domain and is on the blocklist. Any thoughts on how this can be achieved? Thanks.

Hello,   I have smart campaigns set up to trigger lead scores based on changed statuses. We recently had an event, and updated the registrants to "Attended" and "No show". For lead scoring, we add people to the flow based on the trigger:   Program Status Change isProgram "is any" New Program status is "Event > Attended" The trigger results show there was no one was affected. However, when I played around with a filter rather than a trigger and set it as:   Program Status Changed:The program "is any" New Program status "is any"Date "last 2 days"   I can see all the people who should have been updated. Any idea of why this is happening and how I can remedy it? Let me know, thanks!

Hello, Marketo community!   I typically incorporate SFDC campaigns as flow steps in some of my Smart Campaigns, and I don't utilize SFDC campaigns at the program level.   Usually, when I create a campaign in Salesforce, it becomes available as an option in the Marketo flow within a few minutes, usually within 10 to 15 minutes.   However, I created a Salesforce campaign this morning, approximately 5 hours ago, and it still hasn't appeared as an option in the Marketo flow step "Add to SFDC campaign" picklist.   I've followed the same process countless times before, and it has consistently worked. I haven't deviated from my usual procedure this time. Additionally, there are no sync error messages appearing on either platform.   Do you have any insights into what might be causing this issue?

Hi All- we are trying to send MQL notifications to the appropriate sales reps but the issue is that the Sales Owner (Lead Owner/Contact Owner in CRM) or Account owner is not the field that we want to use as the recipient of the emails. So, for now we add the actual recipient of the email to the  'to other emails' section and leave the 'Send to' section as the Sales Owner. This leads to email going out to incorrect people and the appropriate people just being CCed on it.   So, my questions are: 1. Can any other Owner field be added in the 'Send to' drop down? OR 2. Can we set the 'Send to' to 'None' and the recipients mentioned in the 'to other emails' will still get the email?

I was thinking about creating a QR code but I was wondering how it would work with Marketo. For example, we have a trade show coming up and we want to have QR codes by the machines so they can watch YouTube videos of our products straight from their phone. What would be the best way to go about doing this so we can track who exactly watches the video, uses the QR code, etc.?Any help would be appreciated! Thanks so much!

Marketo’s ${variable} syntax conflicts with other languages using the same dollar-single-curly-quote syntax, like good ol’ JavaScript.   So if you try to use a JS template literal in the LP Editor... <script> let a = `Report ID ${report} for ${this.name}`; </script>   ... Marketo naturally thinks you’re referring to missing variables and throws an error:   Officially, there’s no alternate syntax in Marketo (and there’s definitely no way to change the delimiter in JS). But the workaround is easy. Create a global Text token {{my.d}} just containing the single character $:     (Why {{my.d}}? Just copying Velocity’s $esc.d, which also escapes the dollar sign. You could use another name if you want, but this should be easy to remember.)   Use that token to escape the $ sign: <script> let a = `Report ID {{my.d}}{report} for {{my.d}}{this.name}`; </script>   Marketo will render this as: <script> let a = `Report ID ${report}

I'm trying to build a report that can show me the number of opportunities that have Bizible Attributed Touchpoints (BATs) against them, but I can only seem to build one that shows the number of BATs across the Opps. Has anyone been able to do this? Thanks!

Hi all!  Our database has too many prospect records and we are looking to delete any records that are in SFDC as outbound leads that do not need to be in Marketo.  We are thinking about creating a custom sync filter field on the records in Salesforce to prevent them from syncing back into Marketo.  My question is, if in the future, these records request a demo or interact with our website, are organically created in Marketo, will we be able to reset the sync? Or will the sync to the salesforce records still be blocked? Is there a way around this? or will Marketo try to create a duplicate record in SF as Marketo cannot sync the records? Thanks in advance!

Dropping new scripts and styles into a master LP template and mass-reapproving isn’t the safest route. JS might only be meant for certain forms… CSS might conflict with heavily customized pages (perhaps someone exploited the dreaded Custom Head HTML?)... trust me, stuff can go wrong.   Better to have a gentler rollout/rollback, with <script> and <link> tags toggled using a mktoBoolean.   We’ve seen people try to use HTML comments to do this, but since the open-comment <!-- and close-comment --> sequences differ, they’re impossible to control with a single variable. (There’s tricky markup that seems to work, but the resulting document is invalid HTML — unprofessional even if the browser lets it slide.)   Ideally, we’d have valid HTML, using standard attributes to make elements either enabled/active or disabled/inert. I hope the collective experience on the community can help identify the root cause for something we are running in to. I have a customer who, for reasons that are not relevant here, has two production Marketo instances and for some of the webpages on their website forms need to be submitted to both instances. The chosen solution is to have the form from the first instance visible on the page and on success do an API submission to the second instance using the submit form endpoint: https://developers.marketo.com/rest-api/lead-database/leads/#submit_form From the test AEM environment (without any webserver and / or cloud machinery in front of it) both submissions work as expected, but on the live domain the API request seemingly is not reaching AEM from the dispatcher.   Has anyone seen this issue before?

I'm admin at Marketo, however, when I try to access the link I got this message:  It seems that your Adobe ID is not linked with your Adobe Experience Cloud solution accounts.Please get in touch with your Org Administrator or Adobe Enterprise Support.   Does anyone have any idea how to pass it?

I am running some nurture content in smart campaigns because we have a lot of rules and unique scoring that work better in campaigns then in nurture streams. Regardless of being ran in a smart campaign or nurture stream I haven't seen a solution for this, but I am looking for a way to delay an email  in the smart campaign from being sent out "x" amount of days when a person gets an email from any other campaign that's already active and running.
