Implementing a Global Permission Email Campaign

Hi everyone:

I am looking for fellow Community members who have experience implementing a permission email campaign globally in multiple languages. Do you have any resources or best practices to share on email design, copy, campaign setup or permission strategy (single opt in, double opt in, etc.) for different countries in the Americas, EMEA, APAC regions?

Thanks in advance.

Can you be more specific about what you are already thinking and what might work for you?
  1. Setup permissions and strategy. I personally recommend always using double opt in, or at least single opt in. But each country is a bit different. Germany, in particular requires double.
  2. Always ask the language on the sub mgmt form. Then run it as a picklist and Segmentation.
  3. always have several possible communication options and even kinds of email: sms, fax, mail, promo emails, newsletter, blog, event invitations, webinar, etc. (I wrote about this on my site alot: marketingrockstarguides.com.
  4. Decide if you will use separate emails for each language or will try using Dynamic content. Not sure which would be best for you though.

You can refer to a webinar that I did last year for managing email preferences in MKTO -  http://go.grazitti.com/Webinar-Keep-Your-Users-Subscribed-Forever-LP.html
This is not specific to running a batch campaign for updating preferences for existing records but covers designs, best practices etc for managing email preferences.
