Downloadable Resources - Marketo Landing Page or Website with Marketo Form

We are re-launching our website and I was curious as to what is best for our resource section – should we host each downloadable resource on a Marketo landing page or just  a page on our company website with a marketo form? I noticed Marketo doesn’t use it’s subdomain of http://pages2.marketo.com/ for its resources but instead marketo.com/definitive-guides/event-marketing/ (for example). Any thoughts on this? What are the pros and cons for using either of these methods?

Our websites use built-in forms whenever possible.

A couple of example:
primeflight.com/services/aircraft.php
servicewearapparel.com/resources/white-papers/better-fitting-uniforms.php
Beta Site - Form Not Working - valor.nxs.net/resources/active-shooter-awareness-guide/

For us, the pros and cons are as follows:
Pros
  +Consistent Look & Feel
  +Overall Higher Conversion Rates
Cons
  +Much more time to setup
+Harder to track goal conversions in Google Analytics
+You have to update the form manually every time you need to make a change.

There are public instructions on how to access the SOAP API at Eric Hollebone's site with all kinds of hand resources if you want to customize the page with information.

We would be interested in finding this out too. Seems that Marketo is using some custom Javascript to pull the data - not sure if it is available publicly.

Thanks for the sample code - we were able to use it to get it to work.
