Do Not Email Current Customers

Once a lead's opportunity has been marked as 'won', is there an easy way to make sure these leads no longer receive our emails without changing their unsubscribed to true? We will eventually market to these leads as current customers, but need an easy solution to make this happen for now.

The only thing I'm thinking is if we add all leads with a won opportunity to a list and then make sure to not include the list on any email campaign.

Any other ideas?

Just add them to the "Marketing Suspended" list with a trigger campaign when they close an opportunity, and you should be good to go.

I use a Segmentation to differentiate propsects from current customers.  Identifying your customers, including won opportunities should be simple:

- Account Type Equals Customer
- Not added to opportunity where Stage is Won. 

You can then include this filter in your email smart lists:

Account Type Segment not equal to Customer.
