Campaigns based on Anonymous Web Activity

Does anyone have any recommendations of how they might be using Anonymous web visitors to add leads to a campaign? My goal is to create a targeted campaign for those individuals who are anonymous, but visit pages on our website that shows some interest. I want to be able to eventually identify these leads, and send emails with content based on their web activity. I realize this requires taking the inferred company and appending data using a 3rd party service, but just curious if anyone else is currently doing this?

Hi Mollie! Yes I have been doing this successfully for the past two years! This program is one with hte highest ROI because the cost is limited, it just takes some time to set it up properly. First of all, you will see that the Anonymous web visitors is cluttered with hundreds of internet providers. I listed down over 500 of those and excluded from the report view, which made it WAY more readable. You might want to divide the audience based on web page. Then, I setup a simple drip campaign with different lists and emails depending on the visited web page where I introduce myself and the company with a link to learn more. On a daily basis, I was getting the reports, loading them up on Data.com or Zoominfo, extracting the job titles that we are targeting and uploading them on Marketo. The response rate for us was phenomenal, also because we are targeting very specific job titles. I hope this helps!
