Hi Marketo Community!

Do someone has a solution for this:

We can track when someone register for a event/seminar, can when the person physical attend to the event/seminar, we also want to plus the score, but for some good reasone we can't track that. So we have to do that manuel, and thats fine, but do someone has a solution for how to set it up?

So we manuel can plus the score when someone is engaging og attending an event/seminar?

Thanks!

Hi Mads, we have program statuses for Registered, Attended, No Show, etc. When they register, they will have a score change. After the event, they're either automatically moved to attended/no show via the GTW connector, or we manually upload a list of attendees if it's a local event. Once their program status changes to attended, they can have an additional score boost.

What is the GTW Connector?

Alright, we are not users of that or pardot.
It's more question in Marketo. Finally it should not be automated, but manuel. Is the only option to go into my lead and change the field (score) ?

If you are talking about an in-person event, you could set up a channel for that and use the iPad app to check-in attendees. Here is the article on setting that up: https://community.marketo.com/MarketoArticle?id=kA050000000L5iiCAC

You could then add a scoring campaign (housed with the rest of your scoring) to score people who attended.

I agree with Alex. However, if you chose not to use the iPad app, I still recommend you create a scoring smart campaign that triggers off of 'Program status is changed' with constraint of New Status of Attended (within the event type). Keep it general so that all your event attendees can qualify (rather than making one per event program). I would never recommend going into the score field and manually changing scores that way. That will be very difficult to manage and you want to be able to have insight on how these scores accumulate or degrade.

Agree with Alex and BeHai.

Triggering that status change could be any Status Change from iPad app or a list import + Change Status flow step. Let the Score system hook into the changes on the lead record. This is the standard way.

We take this one step further and score based on the type of an event that was attended (BTW, this is part of our global/default scoring model - we don't score within the programs themselves):

Also, I can't stress enough how important it is to have properly defined program statuses within each of your channels (and the smart campaigns to move them into the proper program status accordingly).  This will then enable you to trigger off of these program status changes as leads progress through your programs.

First of all, pardon my english :)

Thanks all of you for your fine answer, really priciate.

@ ALex Stanton; Is it easy to set up? Forinstance, we have an event/seminar here in April. So to the event/seminar we can have our iPad and then see all the leads who has registreded to the event, but also give them points for the engagement forinstance?

@ BeHai, can you give an example of that (Program status is changed)?

@ Dan Steven, the picture your refer to in your comment, where is that feature, and the steps is points or what?

Thanks again!

I think it might be worthwhile for you to spend some time taking the on-demand training or viewing the Marketo documentation online.  To learn more about channels and program statuses, you can find more information here.  There is also a comprehensive section on program and program membership here.

BTW, those numbers for the steps are not scores, they are the steps of each program status.  The Step number is used for sorting of program statuses. Leads cannot go backwards in these program statuses - only forward.
