Question

Offer decisioning not picking up changes in offers unless journey or campaign are re activated and re-published.

Hello ,

In my journey, triggered by an experience event, we have an email action that sends an offer based on priority. When the event triggers, the user receives the offer in the email. However, if I disable or update the offer content, I continue receiving the same offer unless I create and activate a new version of the journey.

This becomes problematic when offer content changes frequently because it requires reactivating or republishing the journey each time, which complicates the process of using offer decisioning within journeys and campaigns.

To clarify, I’m not referring to fetching offers via API—those are functioning fine. The issue arises specifically when using offer decisioning in email or SMS channels. How can this issue be resolved?"

Thanks,

Arpan

Hi @Pulkit_Jain_  - Do you have any answer to this?

@arpan-garg

I think Offer decisioning changes don’t automatically update in email/SMS and any updates to offer content are not picked up until the journey is reactivated and republished.
To avoid this, you can add a small Wait activity which forces live evaluation, use a transactional journey, or use CBE-based email, all of which pull the latest offers at send time.

Hi @Pulkit_Jain_  - How can adding a wait activity force live evaluation? Do you mean if a journey is activated on friday and a wait is added for 2 days , then offers will be picked as per sundays offer content ?

Hi @arpan-garg ,
What you’re seeing is actually expected behavior with Offer Decisioning in AJO right now. When you insert an offer decision into an email/SMS in a journey, the message is bound to the decision package at publish time. If you later change or disable offers (or tweak the decision), those updates are not picked up until the journey/campaign is unpublished and republished – there is no setting that forces native email/SMS actions to re‑pull the latest offers on every send.

So today the only supported fix in this pattern is to re‑activate/re‑publish the journey or campaign after offer/decision changes. For cases where offer content must change frequently without republishing, the recommended pattern is to use Decisioning via content decision + custom action or Code-based Experience/API, which resolve offers at send time instead of at publish time.

Thanks,
Amit

Hi @AmitVishwakarma  - What do you mean by Decisioning via content decisioning + custom action.

Thanks,

Are you talking about content decision action (experience decisioning)?
