Email Opens Reaction

Hi Everyone, I am working on a use case where I need to capture ‘Open’ Reaction and send a Re-send email to people who have not opened first email. I used the reaction event but despite the audience profile capturing opens, the reaction event is unable to identify/capture the opens. As a result the entire audience base ends up receiving the re-send email even the ones who have opened. Please help me understand this and any workaround if anyone has any awareness on this. @Mkapoor There are a couple of things to callout here,

  • Apple MPP policy

Since Apple introduced new privacy protection features for its native Mail app, including Mail Privacy Protection, senders are no longer able to use tracking pixels to collect data on profiles who have enabled Apple’s Mail Privacy Protection. Consequently, Adobe Journey Optimizer ability to track email opens using tracking pixels may be impacted.

  • Recommendation: We advise focusing on clicks and conversion metrics instead of open rates for more reliable insights.
  • To validate tracking, use the Audience service to pull email open/click events associated with the journey and see if that’s working.
  • Review the callout to see which journey identifiers you should use for pulling these events.
