Hi AEP community,   Running Adobe Experience Platform at scale is exciting — but often harder than the demos suggest. From broken identities to segmentation limits, teams in banking, retail, and travel keep hitting the same walls. Let’s share what’s really working (and not) in production.   Identity & Profile Stitching – brittle glue Upstream systems creating same hash IDs for orignaal uniqe identifiers like email etc, and suddenly two customers become one (or vice versa). 👉 How do you validate identities before they reach AEP?   Event vs. Profile – one profile, many events Personalization often needs event-level behaviour joined with attributes (“did X three times in 7 days AND lives in Y”). 👉 How are you modeling event vs. profile data to make this practical?   Segmentation Logic – when the UI hits limits SQL-heavy teams often struggle to express complex business rules in PQL/Segment Builder. 👉 Do you prototype in Query Service first, t

Streamlining Data Integration:  Edge Network, AEP and Google Campaign Manager 360Kritika Pareek, Julien Piccini                           Integrating Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) with Google Campaign Manager 360 (CM360) to track and send conversion events from the Adobe Edge Network was a challenging but rewarding project. CM360, unlike AEP, isn't optimized for direct event streaming, necessitating creative solutions to bridge the gap. Business Use Case The objective was to establish a reliable method to forward conversion events from Adobe Edge Network to CM360. We tried reduce reliance on client-side scripts and improve data accuracy. The solution utilized the Campaign Manager 360 API to upload conversions in batch format, ensuring seamless integration while aligning with CM360’s attribution models and reporting standards. Project Context The project focused on forwarding the conversion events from AEP to Google

Hello Adobe Experience Platform users, We have a really exciting Ask Me Anything (AMA) on 9/2 at 8am PST where product and engineering will be answering questions on all things related to AI Assistant. You don't want to miss this!In the meantime, review this article from one our engineers who will be leading the AMA on 9/2: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/perspectives/prompting-101-how-to-talk-to-adobe-experience-platforms-ai-assistantRegister here: https://experienceleaguecommunities.adobe.com/t5/aep-events/ask-me-anything-september-2nd-with-experience-platform-experts/ec-p/769194

Not too long ago, I saw an ask that got me curious.  The ask was to reduce the number of streaming segments the group had created.  As you may know, I help with our own implementation of Adobe Experience Platform.  I wanted to dive in and see what was going on. General architectural pattern First, we must understand something that applies all over any system.  In any system that has a shared environment across groups, it presents a challenge.  The more an environment is shared, the more standardization, governance and shared resources you must incorporate into your environment.  The more environments are split up and isolated, the less need of these you have, but you introduce the possibility of each having done things vastly differently ways, re-inventing the wheel (e.g. 20 different definitions of revenue, 20 different definitions of an audience or an abandon cart journey) and have more difficulty in sharing across the groups (e.g. preventing overcommuni

I recently gave an internal enablement session on the AI Assistant.  It was straight forward and didn’t go into too much depth.  Out of it came a lot of asks for any kind of rules or methodology I was following. My approach is simple; just use it to do my job.  As I think of any question, I quickly frame the question and ask the AI.  Nothing fancy, not trying to trick it, not doing large verbose prompts or persona, just straight forward Q&A. Break down more complex questions to simpler prompts and then tie these answers together myself for more critical thinking. Basic prompts: Do you know any documentation about Edge API? What are segment guardrails? What is the difference between rbac and obac? Can I do an upsert? At some point I started taking questions that others were posting in an email to me or more broadly to a group. Then have the AI Assistant answer them as is without changing anything. Questions people were asking: How are profiles qualified into a

Hi, We are planning to delete users/profiles from the AEP sandbox that have not been active for a year to remain under the licensing quota. There seem to be two ways we can delete them: 1. Datahygiene tool and 2. Delete APIs.Can we also use QS PSQL to delete profiles too? Also, I have a few questions.Does the API have a daily limit on data deletion? How is it different from other purge activities like data hygiene/PSQL?How does the delete happen? Does it only delete profile datasets, or does it also delete related records from the engagement datasets? What are your recommendations on setting up such a purge process for profiles/contact history in AEP? ThanksDebraj

Hi All, I've encountered an issue with inserting data into a qsaccel table created as a source for custom dashboards.I've followed the documentation available here: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/experience-platform/query/data-distiller/sql-insights/reporting-insights-data-model and a very helpful article by @annamalai: https://experienceleaguecommunities.adobe.com/t5/adobe-experience-platform-blogs/harnessing-data-distiller-s-query-pro-mode-for-chart-authoring/ba-p/673218 I am able to create the table and use it as a source for dashboards (creating it as a result of select query), however for the use-case that I'm working on I would like to be able to insert data directly into the qsaccel table. When trying to execute the INSERT statement in Query Service, I get the following error:  Error code: 42809Description: <MY_TABLE_NAME> is not a QsAccel Table Thank you in advance for any tipsKamil

Authors: @agregg @ben-maloney @danny-miller  Data Governance, honoring consent preferences, and data access control are three foundational pillars for building customer trust and are critical pieces to get right during your Adobe Experience Platform implementation and ongoing use of the platform. According to Adobe’s 2022 Trust Report, 79% of consumers stated that they were concerned about how companies are using their data. We are starting a blog series that will cover how different tools within AEP can support each of these pillars. Today, we’ll focus on Data Governance and AEP’s DULE (Data Usage Label Enforcement) framework.  First off, let’s talk about what we mean we say “data governance”. In this context we are referring to restricting the usage of data outside of platform due to organizational needs or contractual obligations. With so much first party data available in the tool and cross-channel activation opportunities that bring many dif

In this blog, we’ll walk you through the process of migrating your non-expiring Service Account (JWT) credentials to OAuth Server-to-Server credentials in Adobe Experience Platform. Why This MattersIf you’re using Query Service non-expiring credentials for automated workflows, scheduled queries, or API integrations with Query Service, you must migrate them. After June 30, 2025, these credentials will no longer refresh or authenticate. This migration ensures your systems continue to operate smoothly with no re-configuration needed post-migration. Who Needs to MigrateYou need to migrate if:You’re using non-expiring credentials in Query Service.Your credentials show up under the "Non-expiring Credentials" section on the Credentials tab in the Query Service UI. How to Migrate CredentialsFollow these simple steps to migrate each credential:Go to Queries in the Platform UIIn Adobe Experience Platform, navigate to Queries from the left-hand menu.Open the Credentials TabSwitch to

In this post, we’ll explore how you can stay informed about your scheduled queries by setting up alerts in Adobe Experience Platform. These alerts help monitor query runs and notify you of important status SQL query updates—so you can act quickly when things don’t go as planned. Why Use Query Alerts?Query alerts let you subscribe to real-time notifications for specific states of a scheduled query. You can choose to receive alerts when:A query startsA query succeedsA query failsA query is delayed beyond a set thresholdA query is quarantinedThis makes it easier to track automated workflows without constantly checking their status manually. How to Set Alerts for Scheduled QueriesWhen creating or editing a scheduled query in the Query Editor, you’ll see an option to subscribe to alerts for different states. Here’s how to use it:In the scheduled query setup, scroll to the Alerts section.Select the checkboxes for the alert types you want to subscribe to (start, success, failure, et

In this post, we’ll explore how to manage dynamic SQL audience in Data Distiller by using the INSERT OVERWRITE INTO command. This capability enables you to fully refresh the contents of an audience with the results of a new SQL query, making it ideal for use cases that require recurring or complete audience updates, such as monthly re-qualification or based on customer behavioral pattern. What is INSERT OVERWRITE INTO?Unlike the standard INSERT INTO command, which adds new profiles to an existing audience, INSERT OVERWRITE INTO removes all current audience members and replaces them with only the profiles returned by your SQL query. This ensures precision and control when updating SQL audience definitions at scale. Audience Behavior in Real-Time Customer ProfileWhen an overwrite occurs, Real-Time Customer Profile applies the following logic:New profiles in the batch → marked as enteredRemoved profiles (not in the new batch) → marked as exitedUnchanged profiles → no action take

You must have heard of the Edge Network while implementing the Adobe Experience Platform (AEP). However, not everybody knows what it really is or understands it in full. In this post, I want to mitigate this gap and I am going to introduce this part of AEP.DefinitionLet us start with the definition of the concept of "edge network" in general:It is the physical portion of the network that interconnects with “the outside world.”I like it because it is concise, and it encapsulates all that needs to be explained. If you think of AEP as a mesh of services, servers, network devices, databases..., most of these elements are hidden behind a security system. This mesh is what we call AEP Core. Only a small portion of this mesh can be accessed from external systems. The first building block that can be accessed from the outside world is Data Ingestion, but only secured and vetted private networks are allowed. There is also a data access for the Discovery & Insights building block, which requi
