Hi @jakecham
Storing images locally means they are directly tied to specific pages or components. This can lead to disorganization, making it difficult to manage and locate assets, especially in large projects, there is no automatic creation of renditions, often lack the extensive metadata capabilities of DAM, Does not track version history and referenced across the site and this lead to duplication

@jakecham  adding to @arunpatidar  inputs, approach should be centralized for assets to manage end to end asset life cycle for organization and Adobe DAM provides/ support all the use cases  of internal / external use of assets

Hi @jakecham
Please check https://experienceleaguecommunities.adobe.com/t5/adobe-experience-manager/questions-about-text-v2-including-pictures-custom-color-fonts/td-p/705612

However RTE images comes with disadvantages like, you can't use dedicated renditions , styling could be an issue.

No control, about Image position etc.

Hi @arunpatidar What is the recommended way from below
1. using image plugging to upload images to RTE

2. use side panel to upload images to RTE

3. use copy and paste from local host to upload images to RTE

and what are the pros and cons each ?

Hi @jakecham

It's best to avoid using images outside of the DAM.

If you need to choose between the three options, I’d recommend either dragging and dropping from the side panel or browsing directly from the DAM.
