Internal Communications within AEM

Hi everyone!

The company I work for are in the process of switching to AEM for our global websites and I was wondering if AEM has any form of internal communications platform for people working on the system?

At the moment, all communication is made via emails which means my inbox gets crammed with emails that are not relevant to any of the projects that I work on. I love the idea of platforms such as https://asana.com/ but was wondering if anything like it is built into AEM?

AEM has many out of box component which you can use to build a site like asana, you may have to extend, override or create custom components depending on your requirement. Adobe Social(Cloud product) may provide you additional features like management and governance, it all depends on which feature you use and how important those are.

The notification system in AEM is pretty flexible and could be extended support other endpoints. I don't know much about Asana, but I did a quick POC several months ago to send notifications from AEM to Slack. That was pushing page replication events to a Slack channel (i.e. "User XXX published http://mysite/foo.html"), but there are lots of events going through the system which could be captured and forwarded to some external system.

If hosting your own web site, check out AEM social communities,

    http://www.adobe.com/solutions/web-experience-management/social-communities.html

It includes a social (private) messaging feature.

Ah, so I can use AEM to create a web based communication system, but it is not actually a feature built into the CMS.

Cool, thanks!
