Why Your Sling Filters Don’t Affect Asset Headers in AEMaaCS? by @daniel-strmecki   Introduction When we make a request to fetch an asset from AEM as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS), our request doesn’t go straight to the AEM Publish instance. Instead, it’s handled by Adobe’s OOTB CDN, which sits in front of AEM Publisher and serves cacheable content directly from the edge. If the asset isn’t already cached, the CDN may fetch it from the cloud storage backend where AEM Assets binaries are stored. This storage layer behaves like a blob store and is fully managed by Adobe. Once retrieved, the response is cached at the CDN and served directly from there. Therefore, AEM Publisher is no longer involved in most asset delivery requests. Because of this new cloud architecture, Sling Filters or Servlets that modify response headers don’t affect CDN-served assets. We can still implement response.setHeader() inside AEM, but unless the CDN explicitly allows that header to be forwarde

Requirement:Currently, the Sling Distribution Forward Agents utilize the Apache Sling Distribution Packaging – Vault Package Builder Factory to export packages. However, I want to configure a custom Package Builder that can export or replicate files in their native format instead of using the Vault packaging mechanism. In other words, the goal is to export the content as-is — for example:If the file is a JSON, it should be exported as a JSON file.If it’s an HTML file, export it as HTML.If it’s an image, export it as an image. At present, the default Vault packaging exports the data in a binary (vault) format, which is not desirable for this use case.I would like to understand whether this can be achieved through configuration or if it requires a custom code implementation, so I can proceed accordingly.Currently using the default vault packaging in my forward agent :

Asset Share Commons vs Content Hub: Which Asset Distribution Solution Fits Your Needs?  by Aanchal Sikka Overview AEM Assets enables organizations to centrally manage, organize, and distribute brand assets like images, videos, and documents. But when it comes to sharing these assets with broader teams, partners, or external users, how do you choose between the two leading AEM asset distribution portals—Asset Share Commons and Content Hub?This blog explores the differences between the two https://techrevel.blog/2025/10/25/asset-share-commons-vs-content-hub-which-asset-distribution-solution-in-aem-fits-your-needs/ Q&A Please use this thread to ask questions relating to this article

Hi all, I have implemented Sling Content Distribution (of type Sync Distribution) to sync nodes from one publisher to another publisher. I am using a custom trigger based on ResourceChangeListener, only looking for added events under the path /home/users/IDCS. Use case being i am only trying to sync new created users as i have enabled encapsulation token support and want to ensure newly created users are synced across publishers. I am able to sync the top level user nodes ( like /home/users/IDCS/ymk6sYtFij-x_-UkAyF_) across the publishers, How can i sync the group this user is part of in Publisher A to Publisher B, what nodes do i have to send to another publisher so the permissions are also synced?Below is the code to trigger an event to the sync Agent that i have configured called  "simple-agent". package com.abc.test.core.services.impl;import java.util.HashMap;import java.util.List;import java.util.Map;import org.apache.sling.api.resource.LoginException;impo

Hello AEM Community,I'm working on a component dialog in AEM where a dropdown drives visibility of field containers using a custom JS-based show/hide logic that supports multiple values per target. Goal / Functionality:A select dropdown has 4 options: Images, Articles, Posts, and VideosImages, Articles, and Posts share a common image upload fieldVideos shows a separate video path and poster fieldBoth single and multifield dropdowns are supportedValidation is handled properly — hidden required fields are not submitted, and visible fields are validated correctly Issue:While the custom JS handles visibility and validation well for the video path field, I’ve noticed that the image field (used in the shared container) allows submission even when required and empty.Oddly enough, the video path field is correctly validated. Dialog XML Snippet:xmlCopyEdit<tabjcr:primaryType="nt:unstructured"sling:resourceType="granite/ui/components/coral/foundation/form/select"fieldLabel="Sel

Hi All,   I have a use case for executing sling jobs only on one of the publish instance (I want this to run only once). But it looks like the job is getting completed on all the publish instances, i.e., twice.   In Sling Job I do not see an option for running it on CLUSTER like how we have in Scheduler.   Any pointers?   @Component( immediate = true, service = JobConsumer.class, property = { JobConsumer.PROPERTY_TOPICS + "=aem/something" })@Designate(ocd = ReportGenerationConfig.class)public class ReportGenerationJobConsumer implements JobConsumer { // Some code}   Thanks, Asutosh

Hi All, I am working on a use case where I need to form the path of the work item instance path and share it on the email, so that the user can just click on the workitem path and go to the workitem path directly. But I am not able to form the correct path. I tried using the workitem.getId(), but received a temporary path with VolatileNode in it which does not exist in AEM repository. Any leads to correctly get the workinstance path ?

I'm using AEM with the SitemapScheduler configuration to generate sitemaps on a scheduled basis. I've set up the scheduler with the following configuration: { "scheduler.name": "Practice Daily Sitemap Scheduler", "scheduler.expression": "* * * * *", "searchPath": "/content/practice/us" } However, sitemaps are not being generated in /var/sitemaps, and I can't access them via the expected URLs. I've enabled on-demand sitemap generation, which is working fine. I've also ensured that the configuration file is placed under config.publish. Can someone help me identify why the scheduler isn't working as expected?my crx de of author is : my crx de of publish is : when i turn on on demand sitemap generation it is getting generated like this : which is alrightthe only problem is with the sitemap schedulerplease help me i have waited for one hour and still cannot see the sitemap Note : I am using aem as a cloud service sdk

Resolve Microsoft Word List Copy-Paste Issues in AEM RTE   by @mukeshyadav_  Overview The RTE component in AEM has mainly two paste modes (wordhtml and plaintext). Plain text mode scraps all the mark-up as the mode name suggests. While “wordhtml” keeps the markups and works well for most of the tags. But when authors copy any list (ordered / unordered) from Microsoft Word document ( Desktop application ) and try to paste in RTE directly, it doesn’t paste it well. It creates individual <p> tags  with dot (.) and 6 span tags  instead of ul or ol as shown below.   Solution: To resolve this, the JavaScript of the OOTB EditToolsPlugin was customized -: Create a custom clientlibs for the RTE, applying it specifically to the RTE component. Override the EditToolsPlugin.js to intercept the paste operation, clean MS Word formatting, and convert the list to proper <ul> or <ol> tags while preserving other styles (bold,

Hello Adobe Community,I'm encountering an issue with the Rich Text component in AEM when adding a tel: hyperlink.Scenario:I add a hyperlink with the format tel:+1234567890 in the Rich Text component's dialog. After clicking "Done," the link behaves as expected on the page, opening the prompt to initiate a call when clicked. The link is also correctly stored in the repository as tel:+1234567890.Problem:When I reopen the dialog to edit the link, the hyperlink is stripped, and the text appears as plain text, losing the hyperlink functionality in the dialog.Interestingly, if I use tel:1234567890 (without the +), the link is preserved when reopening the dialog.Has anyone else experienced this issue or have any suggestions on how to resolve it?Thank you in advance for your help!Best regards,Aravind Yesugari

Hi,We have a requirement, where we upload a image on the publisher, and the same should reflect in author also. When raised a Adobe support ticket for the same, this is the reply we got."I would like to inform you that unfortunately reverse replication (from Publish to Author) is not supported out‑of‑the‑box in AEM as a Cloud Service. -This is a fundamental architectural change: unlike on‑premise and Managed Services deployments, AEM Cloud Service does not support the traditional reverse replication agents. The cloud model expects content to be authored at the Author instance and then pushed (forward replication) to the Publishers.Although Sling Content Distribution (SCD) is available for content transfer, the Sync Distribution configuration meant to mimic reverse replication is not feasible in AEM as a Cloud Service. -Because the traditional reverse replication mechanism is absent."Is there any workaround to achieve this functionality?

We're running AEM 6.5.19. We would prefer not to use workflow approval inbox/email chains and instead rely solely on content permissions. However, some of our editors are seemingly subject to certain approval workflows when they attempt to replicate, edit, move, or delete content. For example, I might have full permissions on a node (except for edit acl), yet if I attempt to replicate this page, an approval workflow winds up in the admin user's inbox. We've been deleting these workflows but are worried user's requests wind up in a workflow black hole of sorts. The user may be expecting someone to act on the request. We would prefer for a user who does not have the correct permission on a node to be unable to take the action. We do not want to trigger a workflow that winds up in the admin user's inbox. We would prefer that the action just not be possible for a user without the corresponding permission. In a different case, some of our users seem not to

Hello,We're on a AEMaaCS and have a requirement to create a custom workflow to publish Content Fragments with below use cases. 1.When an author makes a change, they can send the fragment for Review and Activate to a reviewerThen approver reviews the content and accepts to activate - this then publishes the fragment 2.When an author wants to deactivate a fragments Then approver receives the content and de activation request and accepts to deactivate - this then unpublishes and deactivates the fragment 3.When an author makes a change, they can send the fragment for Review and Activate for a specific timeThen approver reviews the content and accepts to activate at the requested time - this then publishes the fragment at the specific time 4.When an author wants to deactivate a fragment at a specific timeThen approver receives the content and de activation request and accepts to deactivate - this then unpublishes and deactivates th

when I worked on a AEM setup usng managed services, Cloudfront inserts extra response header that will tell me if the page is getting served from CDN or from origin.Because it managed service, I can login to the dispatcher and I can manually check if the page is already cache in the dispatcher or needs to be fetched from the publisher. How can I do both of these on AEMaaCS?

Rename/Move an AEM Asset programmatically and Update References  by Aanchal Sikka   Overview Renaming or moving assets in AEM while keeping all references intact is a common challenge for developers. Basic APIs like AssetManager.moveAsset() can rename or relocate assets but do not update references across your site, often leading to broken links. This blog breaks down two approaches: Using AssetManager.moveAsset() for simple moves without reference updates. Alternate way with CopyMoveCommandBuilder, which renames assets and automatically updates all references, ensuring content consistency. The blog includes sample servlet code demonstrating how to implement the CopyMoveCommandBuilder approach.  Link to blog: https://techrevel.blog/2025/10/07/rename-move-an-aem-asset-programmatically-and-update-references/    Q&A Please use this thread to ask questions relating to this article

Hi Team, Initially, the code worked as expected without using the embed property, while running on AMS AEM 6.5 (exact service pack version unknown). We are using the org.apache.sling.servlet-helpers dependency, which is correctly declared in the pom.xml. However, we suddenly encountered an issue with the target sync functionality. Upon debugging, we discovered that the servlet-helpers JAR was missing. The JAR is not visible in the AEM console or listed among the active bundles. To resolve this, we applied the embed property to include the JAR under the /apps folder. Unfortunately, this workaround has led to Sonar issues related to the dependency. We are currently using AEM version 6.5.21.  The servlet-helpers JAR is available in AEM as a Cloud Service, but it appears to be missing in AEM 6.5. We're unsure whether it was replaced or bundled within another JAR. Is it acceptable to manually install the JAR via the AEM console under bundles, or is there a recommended way to

so I have initially run the publisher using this command (I'm on Linux using JDK11)java -jar aem-publish-p4503.jarI installed the content and code packages and I can browser the custom pages without any issues. My problem started after I restarted my PC.  To start AEM publish I triedjava -jar aem-publish-p4503.jarcrx-quickstart/bin/start (I had to change the port number as the default is 4502)I tried to browser localhost:4503, but all I get is a 404. I then checked error.log and I don't see any new entries. I encountered something similar when I setup author the first time and the fix was to delete./crx-quickstart/launchpad/config/org/apache/sling/jcr/repoinit/RepositoryInitializer*.configI tried the same trick in my publisher but it does not work. If I start from the beginning again (rm -fr crx-quickstart), AEM will start working again. Any ideas on how to fix or perhaps a workaround?
