Expose Assets HTTP Service on AEM 6.5 via oauth

Hi,

We are trying to expose Assets HTTP API to external applications via oauth. For AEM as a cloud service, the steps to create service credentials and authorization with IMS using JWT are clearly documented. But for AEM 6.5 on AMS, the steps to get the access token to authorize the third party is not clear anywhere. Any documentation or steps would be helpful here.
