How to use Adobe Guides / DITA / Native PDF layout for column layout exports

We would like to create a Native PDF output layout for a multicolumn document but I have not found the proper way to do that either through defining that in the content nor the layout. Is there documentation somewhere that others have used to create this type of experience?

Objectives:

  • Create content that is independent of layout.
  • On output have the content applied to a layout that is designed as 2 or more columns.

See, if the details on the following documentation page work for you. Do write back if you need further information.
