Footnotes Renumber for Each Page

Why are the footnotes restarting at (1) for each page instead of continuing throughout the document?

Research online says that numbering continuously seems to be the international standard. Is there a way to change the numbering to be continuous throughout the document instead of restarting on each page?

(Tested in both maps and bookmaps).

Hi,

We have fixed this issue. Now footnote numbers should run through entire length of PDF document by default. However if user wants to restart them on every page, they can do so using CSS.

Thanks for reporting this. This will be part of 2024.04.0 release later this month.
